From yocto to yotta!

Quetta is really, really, really, really big!

This is a test page for some of the aspects of my Engineering/SI notation code. Simply, it is a test of the whole range from 10E-31 through to 10E+33. For each decade the input number is shown with 1 through to 5 significant digits. This “base” number defaults to 1.0005000, however other numbers may be tested by using ?k=nnnn on the URL. I used Volts for the units quite arbitrarily.

Note that numbers that have exponents which are 1+3×I where I is an integer (the first below is 10e-22 if the default k is being used) indicate a general problem with SI or Engineering numbers. To show all the required digits to the left of the decimal place means that more precision is implied than should be! As well, the routine does not round such numbers (try with 1.55550 for k: in that case the single digit results should be 2), though that likely can and should be fixed.
